Choir Present Cheque to Alzheimer Society
A busy Christmas period by the Barry Male Voice Choir included two local charity concerts.  The choir, together with the Barry Island Junior School Choir provided a memorable evening of seasonal music at Vale Mayor Councillor Emlyn Williams' Charity Concert held at Art Central Barry. The choir`s Christmas Carol Concert featuring the RAF Voluntary Band held at All Saints Church was held in aid of the Alzheimer`s Society and raised the grand total of £850.
The photograph shows the presentation of a cheque for £850 by Don Surridge, chairman of the Barry Male Voice Choir to Alzheimer Society representatives Helen Lloyd and Pamela Stanley.

During the rebuilding of Holy Trinity Church Hall Monday and Thursday practices are currently being held in Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Street, Barry from 7.30-9.30pm.

Choir Recognise 100% Concert Attendance

At a recent AGM of the Choir, a presentation was made by the Chairman Don Surridge, on behalf of the Choir to Arthur Griffith a long-standing and faithful member of Barry Male Voice Choir since 1972. This was to recognise that over the past 5 years Arthur had achieved a 100% record of attendance for concerts and a 99% record of attendance for rehearsals. This meant that over the last 5 year period, he had attended 105 concert engagements and had only missed 4 out of 448 rehearsals, quite an achievement for a chorister approaching the age of 80!
